Each retreat is shaped by who arrives, where we are, and what is ready to move. The work is honest, embodied, and unhurried.
There is always a framework. We always deviate from it. Sustained, uninterrupted time — in ceremony, in silence, in conversation, in laughter — built around what you carry and what it needs. Grief has found its footing here. So has the weight of a diagnosis. So has the quiet devastation of a life that has lost its thread.
Nothing is performed. The sacred arrives in ordinary moments — a meal, a walk, a silence that finally holds. You go back different. Not because something was fixed. Because something was finally met. Inquire →

“Rebecca's retreat held me through a period of grief in ways I didn't expect. The setting, the atmosphere, her guidance — everything created a space where I could actually be myself. I left feeling seen, supported, and more connected than I'd felt in a long time.”
–Glenda, Auckland
“I came to Rebecca's retreat at exactly the right moment. I experienced real growth that weekend — everything was right, from the accommodation and meals to the programme. Most of all, the women who were there. Strong, loving, and real. Friendships that stayed.”
–Farrah, Auckland

Arrive to a welcome tea ceremony and fifty acres of private forest above the water. A waterfall and swimming hole below. Ocean ahead.
This is Aotea — outer Hauraki Gulf, a thirty-minute flight from Auckland and a world away. No power lines, no streetlights; the first island on Earth certified a Dark Sky Sanctuary. Sixty percent of the island is conservation land, and the water is Aoteaoa's only national marine park. Kauri forest, thermal pools in the bush, white-sand beaches with no one on them, dolphins and whales offshore. In February the warm water sometimes lights with bioluminescence.
The house is native Kauri timber and Japanese joinery, built by a family who took 30 years to create every detail with intention. A river runs through it to the waterfall and two swimming holes. Spring water, solar power. A tatami room for circle, a sea-facing lawn for morning movement, meals from local island chefs eaten together over the water.
We move each morning — yoga, yoga nidra, and Qoya, movement that weaves yoga, dance, and ritual to return you to the body's own knowing. Potential drop-in sessions with island practitioners — dreamwork, conscious rage work — led by people who live here. Excursions into the forest and along the coast, kayaks on the water, and hours with no plan at all. Days take their shape from who arrives.
Four days on Aotea — long enough to step out of your life.
Want to land slowly? You can arrange two extra days on the island directly with the venue.
The wild world is not disappearing here. And neither are you.
Some people have three days to step fully out of their life. Some have five to go further in. Some choose seven — knowing they'll want two days at the end with no agenda, to let what happened actually land.

“I've done a lot of this kind of work. Nothing prepared me for how unperformed it would be. Nothing is treated with more reverence than it deserves, and somehow the sacred shows up anyway — in the middle of a walk, a meal, an ordinary moment. I left feeling more authentically myself than I have in years. Depth without weight.”
“I lost my partner to suicide. I didn't know what I needed — only that I hadn't found it yet. Three days with Rebecca on the land changed that. We moved, we sat in ceremony, we ate together, we were silent, we laughed. My grief stopped feeling like something to survive and started feeling like something that belonged to me.”
“I'd just recovered from a terminal diagnosis. I needed to stop — not to fix anything, just to stop. Five days gave me that, and more. Real rest, real conversation, real silence. I came home different.”
You know what you're here for. These sessions call it into the body — until it moves you from there. Through movement, breath, ceremony, and reflective dialogue. For those in creative or professional transition, this extends into practical marketing consulting — voice, brand, and how you show up in the world.
Intuitive, customized yoga drawing on classical elements — pranayama, japa, yoga nidra, earth-based ritual — shaped entirely around you. Includes the option to build a personal sadhana: a daily practice of whatever length and elements actually light you up, designed to become genuinely sustainable.
Most approaches ask you to process what happened. These sessions go beneath it — into the part of you that was never touched by any of it. Through movement, breath, stillness, and conversation, we locate what remains. Not as an idea. As a felt experience you can return to.
“Rebecca has the ability to hold and create a nurturing, safe space for her students to blossom in. She guided me to access and feel deeply into my power, while also helping me to rest peacefully within myself. Her knowledge and experience is vast, as is her kind and loving heart. Anyone fortunate enough to learn from or work with Rebecca should be prepared for an experience that is life changing.”
“Twenty years ago Rebecca gave me a customized movement and meditation practice. I have used it daily ever since, altering it slightly as my needs have changed. I will always be grateful for the gift of a practice created for my body — one I can return to again and again, no matter what is going on in my life. It has been a profound solace and a quiet agent of change.”
